Keeping premade pho broth in the fridge at home is going to save your time. Making pho broth takes quite a long time. It will be great if the broth is already stocked in the fridge and whenever you want the pho broth; all you need to do is reheating the broth and pour it over some rice noodles and beef. This is the recipe to make the easiest pho broth.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 medium-sized yellow onion, diced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 2 star anise
  • 6 cups beef broth
  • 2 cm ginger, peeled and minced finely
  • 1 tablespoon red curry paste
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce/ chili oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste

 

Cooking Methods:

  1. Prepare a large heavy-bottomed pot. Heat it up on medium-high heat. Drizzle olive oil into the pot.
  2. Add in chopped onion, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Cook for 3 minutes until the mixture softened and fragrant.
  3. Then, pour in soy sauce, lime juice, hot sauce, and red curry paste. Stir until everything is well-combined.
  4. Pour the beef broth into the mixture. Bring the soup mixture into a boil.
  5. Into the pot, add in the star anise, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Simmer the soup for at least 30 minutes.
  6. After 30 minutes, give the soup a taste. Adjust the taste with salt and pepper.
  7. Turn off the heat and let the soup completely cooled down.
  8. Transfer the premade pho broth into airtight container and keep it in the fridge.
  9. Heat up the soup whenever you want to make pho. The broth will be safely stored in the fridge for 1-2 weeks.
  10. Done

You can, of course, keep the pho broth longer in the fridge by freezing it. Pour the broth into some zip lock bag and then freeze them in the freezer. Whenever you want to make Vietnamese pho broth recipe, all you need to do is just taking the frozen broth out of the freezer.

Then, you just have to thawed it, and reheat it. The broth will be ready to use in less than 10 minutes. Make sure that you make a large batch of this recipe. It will surely save you from having to frequently making the premade pho broth.
