Ingredients

  • 1 tube of crescent dough
  • ¼ cup of Marinara sauce
  • ½ cup of Italian blend cheese
  • Italian seasoning and grated parmesan for dusting
  • Your favorite pizza toppings such as sautéed mushrooms onions, and sliced pepperoni
  • Warm marinara sauce for the dips.

Instructions

  • Before you unroll the dough, you need to turn on the oven to 375oF. Roll the dough on a lightly floured kitchen top or a large cutting board. Divide them into four rectangles, each will be about 6x4 inches.
  • Start making your pizza by spreading a tablespoon of marinara sauce on top of each rectangle. You will need to spread one-half of the dough since you will fold the sides. Therefore, you also need to leave enough space on the sides.
  • Top the marinara sauce with two to three tablespoons of cheese and your favorite toppings. Then fold the dough to cover the pizza inside. Seal them by gently pushing your fork around the edges.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese on each pocket. Then cut small slits on top of the pockets. It doesn’t have to be deep as you just want the dough to rise and let out the steam.
  • Line up the pockets on a baking sheet with parchment or baking paper. Bake them for about 13 to 15 minutes until they are all turning golden brown. You can serve the pockets with marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.

Notes

Storage and Reheat

You can always use an airtight container to freeze the leftover pockets. If you put it in a fridge, it will be good for about 3-4 days. But it can stay for a whopping 3 months if you keep them in a freezer.

This way, you can make a lot of pizza pockets way ahead and store them in your freezer. And maybe you can start a pizza pockets business.

Reheating is also very simple to do as you can use both oven and microwave to do it. Anyhow, if you keep it in a freezer, you should let it thaw first so it will be warm thoroughly.
