Prepare your oven and preheat it to 350oF.
Prepare a big mixing bowl and put all mentioned ingredients (except the crab and French bread, of course). Use a mixed to beat the ingredients until all are well-combined.
Onto the cream cheese mixture, proceed with adding the lump crab meat. Using a big wooden spoon, stir the dip with the meat gently. This is done so you don’t break the texture of the meat. Using mixer is also not recommended.
If you are making this dip to be consumed directly, prepare your bread by making a ‘loaf bowl’. Simply cut the piece, leaving around 0.5-inch thickness from the bottom. Keep the cut-out bread for later use and wrap it using a foil.
Now, fill the dip into the loaf. Bake for around 15-20 minutes, typically until the dip is bubbly and the cheese starts to melt. You can also opt to broil it to make the cheese crusts. However, make sure to watch it closely as your cheese may burn.
Put the remaining cut-out bread on top of the bread loaf for 10 minutes before the oven time runs out.
Remove bread from the oven. Slice the bread to serve it. Don’t forget to prepare the knife so that people can cut away the bread as well.
