That being said, there is one simple trick to make them taste much better. Simply rinse the canned chickpeas carefully to eliminate the liquid, then let them shimmer for about one hour in freshwater.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can chickpeas,   rinsed and drained
  • 1 pcs lemon, squeezed to juice
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ half tahini
  • ¾ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 3 tbsp olive oil, and some more for drizzling
  • 3 tbsp water
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Put all of the ingredients listed above (except the olive oil and salt) into a food processor or a blender, and blend until they create a smooth mixture.
  • Pour olive oil slowly while the mixture is still being blended, until it turns light in consistency and creamy in texture.
  • Season with salt as necessary.
  • Put the hummus mixture into a serving bowl then drizzle the top with the extra olive oil.
  • Use your desired toppings for garnish.
  • Serve the hummus as dipping for fresh vegetables or pita, or use it in salads, wraps, sandwiches, and many more.
