Ingredients

  

  • 3 pounds of beef whether it is round or brisket
  • 3 cups of beef broth
  • 1 or 2 bouillon cubes
  • 2 tsp of salt
  • 1 ½ tsp of onion powder
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tsp of ground black pepper
  • 1 big onion
  • 12 ounces of carrots
  • 4 stalks of celery
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 1 ½ tbsp high-heat cooking oil
  • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 4 thyme sprigs
  • 4 rosemary sprigs
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/4 cup of water optional
  • 2 tbsp of cornstarch optional
  • 2 tbsp of cream optional

Instructions

 

  • Season all beef sides with salt. You can add salt if you like. Set aside for an hour at room temperature.
  • Stir all spices (garlic powder, black pepper, and onion powder). Put in a separate place
  • After peeling and cutting the onion into big chunks, continue the same with carrots and cut the ends.
  • Slice the carrots and celery. Pay attention to the thickness. Use the knife flat side to crush garlic cloves before peeling away the skins.
  • Dry the beef by using paper towels before rubbing the whole beef with a mixture of spices.
  • Apply oil to the instant pot or electric pressure cooker. Choose “Sauté” and opt for a high-heat menu.
  • Add the beef as the oil is shimmering. Make sure all sides of beef are well-browned, four minutes for each side.
  • Serve warm.
